2014 has been an interesting and exciting year for Appello. The past 12 months have brought on a lot of changes and challenges, but we think we’ve been able to handle them all in a really good way. Our team is slightly smaller than when we started off and this has made us become closer than ever. Everyone is working across the previous department boundaries and making even more focused efforts to expand and improve our app portfolio.
Annoyed about a lot of places and roads missing from the OpenStreetMap data? Or actually rather pleased with the new maps, but still think they could use a tweak from time to time? We aim to please, so let us present to you: the Map reporter!
Any errors you encounter along your way can now be reported to OpenStreetMap directly from the application. The reports you send will be added as notes to OSM where they can be picked up by other OSM users (or yourself) who may then make the necessary edits to the map.
And remember, by reporting the errors you encounter you’re not only helping yourself to a better driving experience, but all the other OSM users out there as well.
An important part of your work as marketing coordinator is to manage, coordinate and execute marketing activities and projects that strengthen Appello’s sales and brand across key markets globally. Through close cooperation with the rest of the Appello team, you will design, develop and drive projects, campaigns and all communication via Appello’s direct media channels and indirectly via its B2B partners. Appello’s application portfolio is sold globally to B2C customers through the leading app store channels, channels we expect you to take responsibility for.

You will be a part of a team that works with the Product and Marketing field at Appello’s headquarters in Gothenburg, Sweden.
You have a post high school education within marketing/ communication or similar documented experience. You have worked as a marketing coordinator previously and you have a minimum of 3 years documented work experience as such. You have excellent project management skills and you are good with copy and layout and have practical experience of both Photoshop and InDesign. Naturally the position requires a good working knowledge of MS Office. You have excellent oral and written communication skills in both Swedish and English. You are sales and customer focused and experience from B2B will be considered a merit.
You are results focussed, used to working independently and are not afraid to take your own initiative. You are responsible, structured and diligent with good attention to detail. Naturally, as the flow of work can vary, it is important that you have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously. You are well versed in managing deadlines and delivering on time. Statistics and analysis of them is an important part of the job. The position can require a certain amount of travel.
The role is a permanent full time position with start as soon as possible. Alf Blomqvist is our new chairman of the board since July 2011. Alf is one of Appellos initial investors back in 2004 and has worked closely with us since then. Alf’s background is within corporate finance, (former head of corporate finance at Swedbank & former head of equity capital markets at Carnegie corporate finance) and venture capital (former CEO of Ledstiernan).
Today we released both a totally new webpage and a whole new look. We admit … we should have done it a long time ago, better late than never. Now our look goes hand in hand with the Appello we’ve been all along. Hope you like it as much as we do.
